ABBOTSFORD VOTES TODAY

Here's my final post before we get the election results tonight.

Today is your chance to vote in our local government elections. Polls will be open in Abbotsford from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

You'll be voting for a mayor, 8 city councillors, and 7 school trustees.

There are two candidates for mayor, 30 candidates for city council, and 16 candidates for school trustee. They will serve a 4-year term.

View the official list of candidates here.

If you're not sure where to vote, the City of Abbotsford website has a helpful FIND YOUR VOTING PLACE page.

Bring the voting card you received in the mail, and two pieces of ID.

If you'd like to learn more about the candidates, click on the links at the top of this page. The Candidate Websites page is a good place to start.

You don't have to use all your votes. It's perfectly OK to vote for fewer than 8 city council candidates or 7 school trustee candidates.

I voted earlier today, and hope that we have a strong turnout here in Abbotsford. Results will be announced on the City of Abbotsford website sometime after 8:00 pm.
